The 21st edition of MONSTRA 2022 began yesterday with the preview of one of the most awaited films of the festival, ????? (???? ?? ?????????? ?????????? ?????????? ??? ??? ????????), from the highly regarded Japanese director Mammoru Hosoda.

On MONSTRA’s first day, all the team had the pleasure to welcome, at Cinema São Jorge, all those who dared to enter the “enchanted” world of animation cinema. MONSTRA would like to thank them for their presence.

Today, the attention is focused on MONSTRA’s 2022 Opening Ceremony, happening at 9:30 pm, at Cinema São Jorge, to which everyone is invited! At the start of the unmissable 21st edition of the festival, MONSTRA exhibits, with enormous felicity, 3 short films made by Portuguese directors and another 3 short films from Bulgaria, this year’s guest country. The whole team will be there to welcome you to what is the biggest animation festival in Lisbon and with you to make this edition unforgettable!

To receive two FREE tickets for the Opening Ceremony, you have to show, at the Cinema São Jorge box office, the post we made about the session on Instagram and Facebook.

The previews continue with the screening of ???? – ? ????, the latest film by the Danish artist Jonas Rasmussen, at the start of DokAnim, at 20:00, at Cinema City Alvalade. The film, which only arrives in national cinemas officially in April, enters the history of Animation Cinema with three nominations at the 2022 Oscars: Best Animated Film, Best Documentary and Best International Film.
