Centenary of Portuguese Animation: Portuguese Abstract Animation
Opening activity of the 1st Portuguese edition of the Punto y Raya festival, this session, curated in partnership with MONSTRA, welcomes international audiences to this year’s host country. A selection of exemplary films from different animation techniques and artistic approaches to the idea of abstraction, covering more than 10 years of Portuguese productions.

On its way to its 6th edition, the Animario Festival is organized by Matadero Madrid and Cineteca Madrid, spaces for cultural creation and conservation in the country. At the invitation of the festival, there will be a conversation with Fernando Galrito, artistic director of MONSTRA, about Portuguese animation, as well as a screening of our classics.

MONSTRA on the Loose at Casa da Cerca: History Marathon of Portuguese Animation
Celebrating World Animation Day (October 28), MONSTRA returns to Casa da Cerca, in Almada, for a special session: a marathon that will cover the entire history of Portuguese animation, starting at 10am and ending at 5pm. The marathon will have breaks, with commentaries from Prof. Américo Jones and Fernando Galrito.
