The celebration of the 60 years of Nukufilm, the Estonian puppet animation studio, starts today! At Museu da Marioneta, at around 6:30pm, the audience will be able to see about 15 sets of various films from up close, all coming from the guest country of this edition of the MONSTRA festival. They will also be able to see 4 sets from Portuguese stop-motion films. Some production secrets will be unveiled, emphasizing both the Estonian and the Portuguese talent in the making of puppets, accessories, decor and storyboards.
In the Portuguese projects, we will highlight two shorts and two music videos – Pronto, Era Assim (Joana Nogueira, Patrícia Rodrigues), Amélia e Duarte (Alice Guimarães, Mónica Santos), Axl Rose (directed by Bruno Caetano to accompany the song from musician Miguel Araújo) and Cinegirasol (Bruno Caetano, Rui Telmo Romão) from the national band Os Azeitonas.
