‘The Rooster, the Crocodile, and the Night Sky’ is a tale of passion, loss, surreal comedy and explosive violence. The film is animated in a cut-out style combining a variety of elements such as cardboard, tinfoil, paint on glass animation and super-8 film footage to create a dreamy, hand-made aesthetic.

Ding Dong Denny O'Reilly's History of Ireland

A tourist walks into a Dublin pub looking for directions and encounters Ding Dong Denny O'Reilly at the bar. Ding Dong insists on telling him the "real" history of Ireland over a number of pints. From the Normans to the Famine to 1916 and the sex shops of O'Connell Street, we hear Ding Dong Denny's delusional take of events that shaped our nation. Ding Dong is a comic creation of comedian Paul Woodful, and is his first adventure into animation.

Herderboy

On the wild frontier of the Chewzi Kingdom in the highlands of future Uganda, an elite trio of herders protect precious cyborg cattle from deadly spirits. Hidden amongst the herd is teenage stowaway Ndahura, who is desperate to prove himself as a warrior and become a legend like his three heroes. When the herders are attacked, Ndahura makes a reckless choice to take on a vengeful hyena monster that he must fight alone.

Soul Office

Sinopsys:
Soul Office is an animated comedy short film following a criminal duo that bite the dust during the heist of an ATM. They come back as ghosts for one more shot to pull off their plot. The short is the creation of Ryan Loughran, with Taunt supporting the production. Northern Ireland Screen in partnership with BFI Network have also backed the film as part of their Creative Animation Fund. Watch the trailer here.

The Last Elk

Country: IRELAND Year: 1998 Duration: 7 mins.
Sinopsys:
The Last Elk re-imagines the story of the last of the wild Irish elk. Each animal is represented by a different musical sound; the elk experience peace, alongside harshness and strife, but always remain harmonious. When the last elk is killed at the hand of man, the music ceases, and the elk becomes a relic of Ireland’s natural history. As each elk dies, so too does the instrument it is attached to till all is quiet.

TOT

Sinopsys:
TOT is a psychological thriller staged in a dense mythical forest. The story is told from the perspective of Tot, a young girl who carries the unassuming and turbulent force of grief with her, fashioned in a delicate glass jar. Unbeknownst to Tot, her grief begins to gain influence over her the longer she chooses to ignore it. She flees her nightmares only to become lost in the deep haze of the forest, where menacing creatures begin to surface.

Sundiata wins by a fluke, shocking the world but as he ascends, he will discover what it means to be worshipped by the masses, and who Maadi really is behind her facade.
