When is the next edition of the festival scheduled?

The next edition of MONSTRA, featuring 11 days of non-stop animation, will take place from 20 to 30 March 2025.

Where does the MONSTRA festival take place?

The festival takes place across various locations throughout the city of Lisbon. The most central venue, where most events and film screenings linked to the competitions are held, is the Cinema São Jorge on Avenida da Liberdade. There are also screenings at the Cinemateca Portuguesa and Cinema City Alvalade.

When is the 2025 edition’s programme presentation scheduled?

The programme for the 24th edition of MONSTRA was presented on 12 February at Cinema São Jorge. The full programme is available HERE.

Are the workshops, exhibitions, and other parallel activities free of charge?

For all Workshops, Talks, and Masterclasses under the Training and Industry section, prior registration is required to secure your place by filling out a form. All information can be found HERE.

How much do tickets for the film screenings cost?

Ticket prices vary depending on the venue. Information about ticket sales can be found HERE.

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets are available at the physical box offices of the festival venues: Cinema São Jorge, Cinema City Alvalade, Cinemateca Portuguesa, Museu Nacional de Etnologia, among others. Tickets can also be purchased online — more information HERE.

How to get to the festival venues

By Car

Through a partnership with Telpark, our attendees can enjoy private parking during the festival dates from 20 to 30 March (except on 28 March) at the following car parks:
