Koji Yamamura: Dozens of drawings!
Museu do Oriente hosts “Koji Yamamura – Dozens of Drawings!”, an exhibition composed of over fifty original drawings from the most recent films of this renowned Japanese director, such as “Mr. Head” (2002), the feature film “Dozens of Norths” (2021), the multi-award-winning “Franz Kafka’s Country Doctor” (2007) or “Muybridge’s Strings” (2011).
As part of the exhibition, Koji Yamamura will also conduct a masterclass on his exhibited films, as well as a guided tour, followed by a retrospective of his work.
Koji Yamamura is a Japanese independent animator who writes, animates and directs his own films, a true auteur. He has been distinguished at dozens of competitions, including his Oscar nomination in 2003 and major prizes at the world’s most prestigious festivals, such as Annecy, Zagreb, Hiroshima, HAFF, and, of course, MONSTRA.
